The Surprisingly Creative
Science of Body Casting 🧪

At first glance, body casting feels like it belongs in some secret corner of an art school or maybe tucked away in a sci-fi movie prop room. Thankfully, it’s now an at-home experiment you can actually pull off and enjoy as a custom toy 😉
Clone-a-Willy and Clone-a-Pussy kits transform what sounds complicated into a playful mix of curiosity, intimacy, and creativity. The end result is something much more fantastical and sexy.

Body casting isn’t new (and you can keep an eye on our blog for future deep dives on this). Artists have been preserving bodies in plaster and bronze for centuries. What’s different here and now is the accessibility.
Our kits shrink down the studio setup into something you can try in your home. It’s a cheeky reminder that our bodies are artworks in their own right, which are worthy of documentation and celebration!

Sexy Seaweed
The star of the show in our kits is alginate, a plant-based powder derived from seaweed. If you’ve ever had a dental impression made, you’ve probably seen it before.

Why it works so well:
- It’s non-toxic & biodegradable = skin-safe & planet-friendly
- It’s food-grade safe. Dentists literally put it in your mouth.
- It sets fast. Mix it with water, and in minutes it gels into a perfect mold.
- It’s detail-oriented, capturing texture so precise it borders on shocking.

100% Platinum-Cure Silicone
All kits use 100% platinum-cure silicone—the gold standard of silicone! It’s non-porous, body-safe, and crazy durable. Plus, it captures incredible detail (even a fingerprint!) so your replica is as real as it gets.

How the Magic Happens
-
Mix the alginate with warm water. (Pro tip: cooler water slows it down, warmer speeds it up.)
-
Pour the mix into the casting tube provided in the kit.
-
Make your impression. The alginate sets within 2–3 minutes.
-
Swap in silicone. Once the mold is ready, fill it with the safe, body-friendly silicone mix.
-
Let it cure. After a few hours, peel away the alginate and reveal your masterpiece.
